We are pleased to share some exciting developments at APT Manufacturing in Northwest Ohio. Over the past year, APT, Hypertherm, and FANUC have been working together to standardize several robot plasma cutting solutions.
After observing the MOD-WELD product throughout the Midwest. Hypertherm conveyed their admiration for its construction, quality, and meticulous attention to detail, noting that APT is “the type of company that we want to be associated with.”
In April 2024, Hypertherm approached APT with the possibility of developing a standard robot plasma cutting product. Given the broad demand for this type of equipment across numerous industries, we felt it would be an excellent fit for APT and their channel partners. Our discussions focused on potential applications, including trimming castings, truck frames, and dome cutting.
In-Person Training
We understand that one of the most important steps to ensure success is to make sure you are comfortable using your products and equipment.
This is why we offer product training classes. In the MOD-WELD training class, you can expect hands-on training, while technical experts walk you through daily operations, programming, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and much more. You will be writing new production programs on the FANUC CRX with the easy to program timelinebased tablet utilizing the Miller, Fronius and Hypertherm power supplies. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and gain insight into the purpose and functionality of the equipment and feel at-ease when you are using it in production at your facility.

The MOD-CUT Cart is a robotic plasma cutting system that uses a FANUC CRX 10iAL cobot designed to easily cut various 2D & 3D shapes with powerful and intuitive software. This is used to program and cut flat stock, or 3D such as domes, tubing and I-beams. It comes equipped to connect to a fume extraction system (sold separately). It is mobile and features 16mm fixture holes on 2” centers for repeatability. Explore the numerous accessory options to enhance this table’s convenience and create a productive work cell.
The system comes with the Hypertherm Powermax 85 Sync. This plasma cutter is a next-generation professional grade air plasma cutter that dramatically simplifies system operation for gouging and recommended cutting up to 25 mm (1″). Features automated system process set-up via advanced RFID-enabled SmartSYNC® torches and a revolutionary single-piece cartridge consumable that provides trackable utilization data.
